With the launch of a dedicated Luxury Department, we are seeking skilled and passionate individuals to join our team as Junior Jewellery Specialists. Fully incorporated and registered in Singapore since 2009 with presence in Jakarta and Beijing, 33 Auction is an established auction house renowned for its expertise in Modern and Contemporary Asian Art. As pioneers of a new category, you will have the opportunity to actively curate and promote this segment of auctions and selling exhibitions.
Responsibilities:
Valuation and Authentication:
- Conduct thorough research and authentication of jewellery pieces, including gemstones, diamonds, and precious metals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes related to jewellery, providing insights and recommendations to the management team.
Consignment Getting and Client Engagement:
- Develop and execute strategies to sell and acquire high-quality jewellery consignments for auction.
- Provide expert guidance and support to clients, including collectors, investors, and sellers, on jewellery valuation, acquisition, and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to promote jewellery auctions and engage with potential clients through various channels, including events, exhibitions, and digital platforms.
Cataloguing and Auction Support:
- Lead the cataloging process, ensuring accurate descriptions, detailed condition reports, and high-quality imagery of jewellery items.
- Actively participate in auction previews, auctions, and post-sale processes, including client engagement, bidding assistance, and post-sale follow-ups.
- Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the Jewellery Department.
Qualifications:
- Degree educated or equivalent
- GIA Graduate Gemmologist or equivalent qualifications, with multiple years of experience in the gemological field
- Experience in the jewellery industry is a must.
- Strong network and proven track record of sourcing and selling high-value jewellery pieces.
- Compensation will commensurate with experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
- Proficiency in relevant software and database systems for cataloging and inventory management.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin or another Asian language
- Demonstrate a positive, creative and can-do work attitude
- Able to work well independently and as well as in a team.
