Purpose of Job:
- Work closely with the Allied Health Services Team in screening physical needs and care coordination.
- Promote physical well-being and cancer-preventive lifestyle among the public.
- Plan and develop community outreach programmes and cancer education workshops.
- Connect clients with cancer to relevant resources and aid beyond 365CPS where appropriate.
Key responsibility areas:
Rehabilitation
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their physical needs and limitations.
- Develop individualised treatment plans to address pain management, mobility, strength, functional limitations and help clients regain independence, enhancing their quality of life.
- Use various therapeutic techniques, such as exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in physiotherapy.
Physical Well-being Advocacy
- Create educational material about maintaining physical well-being through marketing collaterals, e.g., quarterly newsletter, blog posts, etc.
- Plan, develop and conduct educational programs, workshops (exercise classes) and public talks.
Referral & External Stakeholder Liaison
- Refer clients to relevant information or resources specific to their needs, including referral to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Collaborate and work closely with the clinical team to provide comprehensive care.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Physiotherapist with a valid Practicing Certificate
- Experience in working with cancer patients or in relevant clinical settings would be an advantage.
- Experience in congestive manual lymphedema drainage would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Recognised Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy or pass the MOH Qualifying Examination.
- Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Singapore.
