LNG Trader is responsible for developing and executing trading strategies for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the global market. LNG Trader works closely with other traders, analysts, and risk managers to optimize the profitability and performance of the LNG portfolio. LNG Trader also monitors market trends, identifies opportunities, and manages risks in a dynamic and competitive environment.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Identify and execute for-profit trades in near to mid-term LNG markets related to Chevron portfolio in Asia Pacific
Develop financial trading strategies in the LNG markets.
Demonstrates strong discipline in position development and risk management
Identify, evaluate and negotiate 3rd party opportunities in the short-term space that add value to Chevron’s LNG gas portfolio
Ensure system flow and maximize Enterprise value by working collaboratively with value chain stakeholders (ADP, Scheduling, VCO, Shipping, Optimization, Cargo Operations, etc.,)
Work closely with the originators to identify, evaluate and negotiate structured trading opportunities.
Engage with industry experts and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
Holds strong understanding of underlying markets, evaluates trends and shares point of view with other desks
Provides visible leadership by working with team members in the development of regional and global trading strategies for short to long term time horizons.
Communicates clearly strategy, transactions, position and operational requirements to team and supporting staff.
Ensures all trading activities are conducted within appropriate delegations of authority and conform with Risk Manual Guidelines and controls
Is considered as subject matter expert within Chevron and the industry in area of responsibility.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of LNG trading and/or origination experience including managing position risk and exposure aggregated across the globe.
Proficient in physical and paper trading, understands different hedging strategies -cross-regional, cross-commodity, cargo arbitrage etc.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and develop complex deal structures to generate/capture new business and grow earnings.
Demonstrating a growth mind set and the capability of leveraging Chevron portfolio knowledge to capture optimization opportunities and creating third party profitable trading opportunities.
Demonstrated exposure and risk management expertise. Ability to articulate market view, outstanding exposure and activities taken to manage risk.
Experience negotiating/contracting agreements in LNG.
Ability to build industry relationships to facilitate new business.
Strong energised team player who will be able to assume considerable responsibilities in a pressurised environment, with a focus on achieving sustainable business results.
Ability in applying and leveraging digital tools and technology (Excel/Word /PowerPoint/other systems) for deal evaluation and risk determination to support trading strategies.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from one of the following fields: Accounting, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management or Marketing.
Willingness to Travel as Required

Selected candidate will be based in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
