Responsibilities:
- Liaise with policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, investigators, lawyers, 3rd party claimants, group companies etc;
- Manage and process claims expeditiously, professionally and equitably within agreed service benchmarks or applicable protocols;
- Ensure reserves are provided or updated in a timely and realistic manner;
- Add value to underwriters by advising underwriters on issues discovered during claims handling such as gap in policy wording and risk improvement;
- Periodic review of files, as and when required;
- Ensure recovery claims are pursued and followed up periodically;
- Compile monthly/quarterly statistics and any other statistical data when required;
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.
Requirements:
- Preferably a bachelor degree in Maritime Studies or its equivalent
- At least 1 year of working experience in the maritime industry or as a marine claims assistant with a direct insurer
- BCP, PGI, ComGI certificates are an added advantage
