The Application Development Manager is responsible for leading a team of analyst and developers, managing the system development, implementation and support of Cards related applications on the mainframe platform with overall accountability.

• Responsible for end-to-end software development and support. This includes pre-project initiation, impact analysis, functional specifications to development, implementation, testing and support.
• Responsible for the understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide consultation on solution and technology.
• Manage or lead a team of Analyst and developers to implement solution that meet business requirements and are in alignment with organization's business objectives.
• Manage the application setup and deployment components.
• Manage development issues and escalations.
• Work with vendor to ensure product deliveries are timely and good quality.
• Manage budget coming from different projects.
• Hands on manager to guide team on functional and technical issues. Have the capability to develop COBOL (or CICS-COBOL) programs according to functional & technical specifications.
• Write program specifications and documentation / flowcharts
• Perform unit and system integration testing
• Support user acceptance testing
• Ensure project documentation is done up in accordance to bank standards
• Upkeep of system to ensure compliant of payment associations’ mandates

Technical Skills & Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in application development and maintenance with full software development life cycle experience
• Hands-on experience on cards application domain on a mainframe platform.
• Significant domain knowledge in Cards and Payments.
• Strong delivery and project management experience in implementing large scale, highly available applications for the financial services/banking sector
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
• Highly effective communicating with technical stakeholders, proficient communicating with non-technical stakeholders
• Good problem solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills
• Experience in leading Cards Compliance delivery

• Setup new DevOps pipeline for new releases and modules by adhering to central DevOps framework.
• Lead analysis and resolution of DevOps automation related issues
• Work with UOB Infrastructure team to provision servers & database
• Install required software and setup application environments from SIT till Production
• Support project team for any incidents relate to environments
• Coordinate with UOB Infrastructure for regular patching of server, database and middleware components
• Execute and monitor end of day batch in SIT/UAT environments
• Setup and maintain Geneos monitoring for all environments from SIT till production
• Automate manual work by using UOB authorized tools

Requirements

• Experience in Middleware Administration (WebSphere/WebLogic/JBoss/MQ)
• Experience in Oracle database and performance tunning
• Experience in Linux/Unix and shell scripting
• Experience in DevOps tool (Jenkin, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Aldon)
• Experience in Control-M jobs setup and monitoring
• Experience in Geneos monitoring setup including dashboard
• Able to document technical architecture using servers and network diagrams
• Good understanding of the Development/SIT/UAT/Production environment requirements
• Good understanding of network and common issues
• Good understanding of service management tools & processes
• Multitask and work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Candidate with the following knowledge will be preferred :-

• Unix servers administration
• Oracle database administration
• Aldon or similar configuration management tool
• Degree from an accredited college / university
• Relevant certifications
