To assist the design engineer to carry out mechanical engineering services design for ACMV, Fire Protection, Water, Pumping, Sanitary, Gas Services for Wastewater/Buildings Projects. The design will be carried out in Building Information Management system (BIM). Design and BIM training will be provided. Knowledge and exposure in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office), AutoCAD and any engineering software will be added advantages. The primary role of the Mechanical Inspector will be to ensure Mechanical systems and equipment are installed correctly. You will be responsible for inspection, witness of testing, and evaluating mechanical/electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with local standards, contract specifications, and all safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping, electrical systems, etc

AECOM undertakes design works for major geotechnical/tunnel projects. While they are engaged in assisting the engineers, they are trained on the aspect of design works in which they are involved.

Depending on the availability of projects, they may be rotated among a few projects. When on-going projects are available at the construction stage, students would be given opportunity for site visit and learn about construction techniques.

• May involve both field work for sampling and site reconnaissance and also a range of softwares knowledge such as Delft 3D, MIKE, SWMM, ArcGIS, etc.;
• Coordination and working closely with biodiversity team to understand the relationship between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and learn to analyse this in the technical reports;
• Ability to work on a combination of these services will be highly regarded;
• Contributing to project presentations and client meetings with senior staff and Project Managers;
• Business development support for current and prospective clients;
• Comply with quality management on all work products;
• Task budgeting and scheduling control;
• Support lead consultant in projects and proposal management as well as administrative duties;
• Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and
• Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.
   

Option #4: Intern Acoustics and Vibration, Singapore

Responsibilities:

• Support technical advice on Noise, Vibration and Building Acoustics, working closely with Project Managers and Project Directors
• Contribute to environmental projects in Singapore, SE Asia, and Asia (depending on project opportunities) on the Noise and Vibration components
• Conduct Building Acoustics assessments
• Coordinate and face the Client to handle the financial aspects of the project and to ensure that the estimated budget is adequately tracked and suitable for the project team
• Be responsible for issued reports and associated technical output and be able to defend them with multinational clients and government agencies;
• Participate in key activities associated with the development of the Noise/ Vibration and Building Acoustics disciplines with the respective leads in each major country/region; attend monthly management meetings and participate in technical knowledge transfer sessions and technical conferences
• Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and
• Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.

Requirements: 

• Undergraduates studying in environmental sciences or engineering with a passion towards environment
• Ability to use modeling software/s will be a bonus but not mandatory as they can be taught during traineeship.
• Candidates with graphic skills such as AutoCAD will be highly regarded.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and presentation) are essential qualities to successfully work on our teams with diverse disciplines and cultures.
