To assist the design engineer to carry out mechanical engineering services design for ACMV, Fire Protection, Water, Pumping, Sanitary, Gas Services for Wastewater/Buildings Projects. The design will be carried out in Building Information Management system (BIM). Design and BIM training will be provided. Knowledge and exposure in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office), AutoCAD and any engineering software will be added advantages. This candidate needs to have good interpersonal skills and communication skills.

The primary role of the Mechanical Inspector will be to ensure Mechanical systems and equipment are installed correctly. You will be responsible for inspection, witness of testing, and evaluating mechanical/electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with local standards, contract specifications, and all safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping, electrical systems, etc
• Review installation to ensure compliance with construction drawings
• Ensure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerations
• Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installed

AECOM undertakes design works for major geotechnical/tunnel projects. When such on-going projects are available at the design stage, the students would be engaged works related to analysis/design on geotechnical engineering/related structural engineering design/analysis to assist engineers in the design process, depending on available of such works. While they are engaged in assisting the engineers, they are trained on the aspect of design works in which they are involved.

Depending on the availability of projects, they may be rotated among a few projects. When on-going projects are available at the construction stage, students would be given opportunity for site visit and learn about construction techniques.
