Responsibilities:
• Responsible for a full spectrum of shipping operations and documentation in commodities trading;
• Handle shipment coordination with suppliers, buyers, ship-brokers, ship owners/agents, surveyors, insurance companies, etc., to ensure smooth loading and delivery;
• Handle full set of shipping documents including liaison with banks on letters of credit negotiations and collection documentation;
• Ensure coverage of marine cargo insurances & charterer’s liabilities for all shipments.
• Follow up on shipping claims and demurrages.
• Maintaining working relationships with the internal / external shipping departments of shippers, receivers and shipbrokers
• Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements:
• Diploma holder / Degree holder (Fresh graduate will be considered)
• Minimum 1 – 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably from a commodity trading environment or bills department in a bank
• Familiar with dry bulk shipping, international trade and shipping operations
• Meticulous and independent in work
• Diligent and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
• Proactive mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to travel overseas at short notice
• Proficiency in English (other languages would be an added advantage)
