Responsibilities:

• Indicate and label every sample that is brought into the lab.
• Set up the samples by pulverizing, dividing, crushing, and drying them.
• Blend agents and samples and prepare for fire assaying.
• Integrate acid digestion reagents.
• Execute fire assay procedures.
• Conduct precious metal smelting and sample extraction.
• Laboratory setup and draft SOPs for Fire Assay procedures.
• Oversee analytical procedures and correct any deviations or discrepancies.
• Advise the lab manager of any instrument or equipment malfunctioning.
• Examine prills, lead buttons, fusions before utilizing.
• Documentation and have the responsibility for the materials and equipment utilized.
• Assist with general and preventive maintenance of the lab's apparatus and housekeeping.
• Optimize productivity among other employees.
• Provide assistance with the application process of government licenses.
• Assure and uphold appropriate cupels, fire assay and water generated sample disposal.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' experience of fire assaying.
• Prior experience in configuring machinery and procedures to recover precious metals is advantegous
• Prior experience using an ICP or XRF.
