Duties & Responsibilities:
- Able to lead site safety team
- Develop, review, revise, maintain and implementation of site Workplace Safety & Health Management System effectively to manage risks and reduce accidents
- To investigate all incidents on the work site and implement correction actions.
- Review and revise all risk assessments to ensure compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of the WSH regulations.
- Enforcement of safety standards in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and provisions.
- Ensure legal compliance as per statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular WSH inspections on general safety practices and audit to ensure that staff and/or subcontractors onsite abide by policies and standards
- Alert relevant stakeholders of any machinery, equipment, appliance, activities or process used in each department that exposes any person to risk of bodily injury, and to recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Preparation and/or submission of safety documents to the client/main -contractor/WSH Corporate Department.
- Able to drive WSH culture in the company
- Ensure adequacy, effectiveness and readiness of fire protection system and Emergency Response Team management system for Office and Factory.
- Promote safe and healthy working conditions through education, awareness campaigns, training courses, drills, competitions, contests and other activities.
- Liaise with statutory bodies on WSH-related licenses and permits and keep updated on the latest change in regulations and Acts and be conversant with all waste management regulations, procedures and licensing requirements.
- Conduct fire and safety training to employees.
- Constant update to management of WSH performance and the continual improvement plan.
- Liaise with 3rd party security service provider and ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of services rendered to organization.
- Constant plan-do-check-act on the related WSH matter of plant's WSH Management System and ensure continual improvement/upgrading of the system.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered as WSHO with MOM
- More than 3 years of experience performing as a WSHO
- Registered WSHO without/less than 3 years of WSHO experience will be considered as a Junior WSHO.
- Relevant Qualification in Workplace, Safety and Health / Engineering.
- Strong technical competency, good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and results oriented.
