Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination
- Develop detailed work schedules and plans for construction activities.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Allocate resources, such as labour, materials, and equipment, effectively.
2. Site Management
- Supervise daily construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Monitor and manage workers, subcontractors, and suppliers on-site.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
3. Quality Control
- Inspect and verify that construction work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and address defects, errors, or deviations from the design.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve any on-site issues promptly.
4. Budget Management
- Track project expenses and ensure that the project stays within budget.
- Approve and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Maintain records of all project-related financial transactions.
5. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure construction activities comply with Singapore building codes, regulations, and permits.
- Maintain accurate records of progress reports, inspections, and project documentation.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders regarding project updates.
6. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
- Make decisions on adjustments to schedules, methods, or materials as necessary.
- Provide solutions to unexpected technical challenges.
7. Training and Supervision
- Train, mentor, and evaluate construction workers and team members.
- Ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Promote a culture of safety and efficiency on-site.
8. Health and Safety
- Enforce strict adherence to occupational health and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents on-site.
9. Communication
- Liaise between project owners, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to project managers or clients.
- Facilitate effective communication among the construction team.
10. Final Inspections and Handover
- Oversee final inspections and ensure all punch-list items are addressed.
- Prepare and submit completion reports and handover documentation.
- Ensure that the finished structure meets all specifications and client requirements.
