We are seeking an HR Manager for a leading Shipping MNC with a global trading presence. This role integrates responsibilities in Human Resources and Office Administration, including talent acquisition, employee development, compensation management, and HR policy implementation. The ideal candidate will bring a solid HR background, extensive experience in the shipping industry, and exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent within the shipping industry, and oversee a seamless onboarding process to integrate new hires into the organization.
- Employee Development and Performance Management: Establish a structured performance review system, identify training needs to enhance employee skills and competencies, and collaborate with management on workforce planning and talent management strategies.
- Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll: Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- HR Policies and Compliance: Create and enforce HR policies tailored to the shipping industry, ensuring alignment with industry benchmarks and adherence to legal standards.
- Office Operations and Environment: Maintain office premises, manage supplies, ensure a clean and safe working environment, and oversee administrative operations such as mail management and corporate travel arrangements.
- Administrative Policies and Support: Develop and implement efficient administrative policies and procedures while providing day-to-day support for administrative tasks to ensure smooth organizational operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field with 3-5 years of HR experience.
- Proven working experience in a shipping company is required.
- Strong knowledge of HR-related laws and regulations.
- Prior experience in administrative functions is a plus.
- A proactive and hands-on problem-solver who is adaptable to varied, complex situations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in developing and implementing HR and administrative policies.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
