Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team. The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. The role involves supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring the availability of clean tools and equipment while adhering to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware promptly and efficiently.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, surfaces, and dining areas.
Dispose of garbage and recycling in a timely manner, adhering to waste management protocols.
- Stocking and Inventory:Restock kitchen supplies such as cutlery, glassware, and cleaning materials.
Monitor and report any shortages or damages to the supervisor.
- Assisting the Kitchen Team:Support chefs and kitchen staff by providing clean tools and equipment when needed.
Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or supervisor.
- Health and Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Follow workplace health and safety policies to maintain a hazard-free environment.
- General Support:Set up dining and kitchen areas as needed for events or service periods.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Min. Diploma in any field
Work Environment:
- The role may involve working in hot, noisy, and high-pressure conditions.
- Adherence to uniform and grooming standards is required.
