Purpose of the Role
The Corporate Communications team is responsible for external and internal communications including crisis communications, Public Relations, traditional and digital media management, branding, events management, stakeholder engagement, communications to Community Investment, and Investor Relations.
Leading a team of two, the Corporate Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing, planning and executing AET’s growing investor relations activities while also being involved in all other aspects of corporate communications.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development and implementation of global and local communications strategies and plans to deliver on AET’s business strategy and goals both internally and externally; this involves working with the business divisions at global and local levels.
- Investor relations:
· Prepare and execute investor relations strategy and plan
· Conceptualize, create and write various material targeting the financial community including presentations, announcements and reports.
· Research, plan and execute roadshows and other engagement with financial community as required.
· Lead as AET’s communications interface as part of Incident Management Team alongside C Crisis Comms Management agency;
· On 24-hour rotational roster with other communications members to ensure continuous communications including media management support for Emergency and if required Crisis Response Teams across all regions;
· Participate and support all drills and manage Crisis Comms Management agency relationship for Asia /Europe and as required globally.
- Drive the implementation of the integrated internal and external communications strategy including various digital tools and channels, virtual and physical events, video production as well as advertising, sponsorships aligned with the corporate business plans while further enhancing the AET brand.
- Oversee and manage concept, design and production of all collateral including annual publication, AET Connects, liaising with internal stakeholders and third parties.
- Manage and support all regional and global internal and external events from planning, development and execution of town halls, internal programmes, ship naming and customer events, conference and exhibition participation to press conferences.
- Conceptualize, write and edit content aligned with business strategy and trends ensuring effective and accurate messaging and creative execution for the various channels and stakeholder audiences.
- Participate in local community investment planning and execution aligned with AET’s sustainability strategy.
- Lead and handle media relations as per company strategy and policy.
- Manage and protect the AET brand and reputation internally and externally including as part of change management initiatives as required.
- Effectively develop and coach Corporate Communications team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism or related discipline.
- A minimum of 12 years relevant experience in the marketing communications field with proven success in corporate communications including events management, corporate visual identity, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrable experience or exposure to investor relations activities, having good knowledge of financials as well as annual and sustainability reporting.
- Excellent editorial management and production knowledge.
- Strong communication skills (in English) both written and spoken, including ability and comfort to present across all levels of the organisation including with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Digital savvy including experienced with web-based and social media communication platforms.
- Highly comfortable and experienced in working in diverse cultures and across global time zones with virtual teams.
- Understanding of listing requirements including ideally SGX and Bursa Malaysia, as well as the topics around the energy transition, sustainability and the ESG agenda will be advantageous.
