Position: Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot F5 ASM policies for both new and existing web applications.
- Configure and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) settings for Azure and AWS cloud environments.
- Assess vulnerabilities affecting web applications and create WAF "Virtual Patching" solutions.
- Monitor and analyse activity logs to detect malicious traffic, indicators of compromise, and reduce false positive blocks.
- Review WAF usage and identify opportunities to enhance and mature protection policies.
- Gain a sufficient understanding of web applications to collaborate with developers in implementing protective controls tailored to specific applications.
- Analyse web protocol data to identify the source, intent, and risks associated with potential threat agents.
- Provide preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems swiftly to ensure infrastructure and application stability.
- Engage in technical design activities to ensure robust designs and understand any infrastructure impacts.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for the WAF infrastructure, including network diagrams, policies, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with developers and the security team to ensure security requirements are met and web applications are adequately protected from cyber threats.
- Review vulnerability scan results and identify areas where WAF configurations can mitigate attacks.
- Have a basic understanding of data flow technologies, including routing, NAT, ARP, and related command-line tools like tcpdump.
- Be aware of mainstream operating systems and various security technologies, such as network firewalls, IPS, and web proxies.
Candidate Requirements
- In-depth understanding of the application project life cycle and process/procedure design.
- Hands-on experience with security tools, including IPS, WAF, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and Network Security.
- Strong background in Application Security and related technologies.
- Experience with security vulnerability scanning and using audit event collection and reporting tools.
- Preferred security qualifications such as F5 CTS-ASM, CISSP, CISM, ISC2, CEH, or equivalent.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to conduct research on IT security issues and products as needed.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Attention to detail.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, with the ability to relate business needs to security controls.
- All nationalities welcome, but must be in Singapore with 2 years of local experience.
