Job Description
• Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and market trends in chemicals industry.
• Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for fluorochemicals and other specialty chemicals with a focus on leveraging technical expertise to drive new businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
• Manage marketing and distribution network in the Asia Pacific region and build strong ties with regional stakeholders (customers, channel partners, etc.).
• Collaborate with sales and internal technical teams to assess customers’ needs, provide technical advice and develop solutions that align with customers’ objectives.
• Manage and provide directions and advice on all technical and laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance for safety and environment regulations for laboratory activities.
• Prepare monthly management reports for management and Japan headquarters.
• Establish annual budgets and monitor revenues and expenses.
Job Requirements
• Fluent in Japanese (Level N1) to communicate with Japan headquarters and other overseas offices
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields with a strong technical background in fluorochemicals
• At least 15 years of global managerial experience in Business Development in the Chemicals Business, preferably of fluorochemicals products in semi-conductor, automotive and electrical industries
• At least 5 years of research and development experience in the Chemicals field
• Broad understanding of and experience in strategy formulation, policy deployment and management systems (e.g. Sales, Marketing)
• Extensive knowledge of global markets, key players, competitors, business models, products, and technology, especially of fluorochemicals products in semi-conductor, automotive and electrical industries
• Broad understanding of business trends and technical requirements of different countries
• Project Management skills
• Diversified global network of installers, manufacturers and customers
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable with interacting with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
• Strong analytical, organising, negotiation, team management and supervisory skills
