Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our consultancy firm. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial records, ensuring timely reporting, managing accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate tracking of outstanding receivables.
- Reconcile client accounts and vendor statements, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with billing processes, ensuring proper invoicing for consultancy services provided.
- Tax and Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Assist with audits, internal reviews, and the preparation of year-end financial documentation.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement and maintain accounting software tools, ensuring they are utilized effectively across the firm.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., consulting, HR, operations) to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA,LCCI) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior accounting role, preferably in a consultancy or service-based industry.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
