Responsibilities

• Assist lead Designer/Engineer in establishing the discipline deliverable list & procedures, interface definition and co-ordination.
• Production, modification and review of documents and drawings as per discipline deliverable list.
• Carrying out all tasks assigned by lead designer in accordance with the discipline procedures and practices.
• To carry out / involve in 3D and/ or 2D design and model reviews, hookups, wiring drawings, installation drawing, MTO generation
• Identifying external interfaces and supplying timely information
• Define resources needed to perform the work
• Ensure that the work is carried out to the specified QHSE requirements
• Maintain a positive and safe working environment at work location
• Comply without fail with the company code of conduct and always ensure ethical behaviour.

Work Experience

• Must have minimum 12 years’ experience in electrical detailed design and engineering for offshore/onshore oil and gas projects including FPSO, process platforms and HVDC converter platforms.
• Must have proficiency in using PDMS and E3D software tools for cable ladders, field trays, lighting and small power and equipment modelling.
• Must have experience in preparation of single line diagrams, layout drawings, cable block diagrams, interconnection diagrams etc. using MicroStation software.
• Must have experience in generation of cable ladders, cable & cable gland MTO’s.
• Experienced in lighting and small power, heat tracing design.
• Production of and review of new documentation and drawings directed by lead engineer
• Revision of new and existing project documentation and drawings
• Review 3D and/or 2D design
• Quality control assurance and improvement of the discipline work and implementation method
• Support the lead engineer in meeting project schedules and budgets along with other team members
• Ensuring that the personnel under his supervision are familiar with applicable project procedures, practices, and special project requirements
• Experience in supporting site teams by resolving site queries/issued.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree holder in Electrical Engineering

Other Skills

• Thorough knowledge of standard 2D drafting tool Microstation.
• Thorough knowledge of 3D drafting tool PDMS and E3D.
• Experience in Cabsys, STID and Nodal diagrams will be a distinct advantage.
• Exposure to /Involvement in Yard Fabrication activities.
• Conversant with oil & gas industry standards such as API, IEC etc.

Job responsibilities:

• Reports to Section Manager of Piping basis organization when assigned to a project role.
• Ensure that all assigned work completed on time, project schedules and of the intended quality.

For project related responsibilities, the job holder shall:

• Responsible to lead the team on Piping & Layout design activities.
• Coordinate on project specific issues with the Piping Design Lead.
• Based on the client specifications, follow project specific procedure related to Piping & Layout design.
• Work closely with the Piping design lead of the project to understand the requirements and address the demand on time. Develop reports as required by the lead.
• In case of any technical challenges, troubleshoot to resolve the issues on time and if required escalate to Piping Design Lead for quick resolution. Plan tasks and issue the deliverables as per company procedures.
• Be familiar with the workflows in the project once they have been set up. Taking initiative and provide any input to the Piping Design Lead on time and highlight in advance if there are any technical challenges.
• Coordinate actively with other offices, for the projects being executed from multiple locations, attend meetings, and communicate effectively. Be flexible and ready to assume additional roles in the project.
• Perform 3D-modeling using E3D / PDMS for Mechanical, Safety, Soft Volumes, Escape & Transport Routes, Access & Material Handling Routes, Equipment modelling, Package modelling with required TP points, Piping and Pipe supports.
• Perform FPSO layout design which includes Turret, Hull and Marine Piping/ Pipe support design. Conduct 3D Model Reviews both internally and externally as per the Project requirements.
• MTO preparation and checking for the Piping Bulk items and Tagged Items.
• Vendor drawing review for the static Equipment’s/ Rotating Equipment’s/ Packages and ensure all the Nozzle orientations; Vessel cleats Support requirements are in line with Design Requirements.
• Perform and Checks the Model object clashes on regular basis and collaborate with other disciplines for effective cleaning of the 3D Model to make it clash free.
• Perform Design Review on regular basis by using E3D / PDMS / 3D model software such as Navisworks for establishing the suitability of Layout / Piping design in accordance with standards and codes.
• Issue of discipline deliverables in project specific templates

Work experience requirements:

• Must have minimum of 15 years of experience having worked in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (Offshore & FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a Piping Lead Designer.
• Experience in Norwegian projects and applicants experience to the relevant standards, NCS and UKCS sectors preferred.
• Must have had prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and green field projects in the Oil and Gas sector with similar roles and possess an excellent understanding of project phases, milestones, and deliverables.
• Must have performed FPSO layout design which includes Turret, Hull, and Marine Piping/ Pipe support design.
• Must possess a thorough understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards such as, but not limited to, ASME, API (American Petroleum Institute), BS, European Regulations and other relevant standards and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITE in Mechanical Engineering or ITI/NTC in Mechanical drafting.

Other skills:

• Must have experience is using E3D / PDMS, MDS, Navisworks, Autocad and MS Office
• Must have performed 3D-modeling using E3D / PDMS.
• Must demonstrate leadership quality in terms of guiding team of design personnel with clear instructions as per design sequence and project priorities.

In addition, the job holder will have the following job specific requirements:

• Applicant must have excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client’s project management representatives and approving bodies.
