Position Summary
As a S&OP Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of supply chain and materials planning activities. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply chain management, materials planning, and S&OP processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing inventory levels, improving forecast accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, production, and procurement teams to gather and analyse data for demand planning and forecasting purposes.
- Utilize advanced planning tools and software to generate accurate demand forecasts, considering market trends, historical data, and other relevant factors.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure production schedules align with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
- Analyse and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to S&OP, highlighting areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide regular updates and insights to management regarding supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve lead times, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights, coordinate plans, and address any issues impacting the S&OP process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in supply chain management.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, materials planning, and S&OP processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using supply chain planning software and tools.
- Knowledge of best practices in inventory management, demand forecasting, and production planning.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
