To perform all general and specialized angiographic procedure (Cardiology and Vascular) and additional modalities including Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) imaging. To ensure quality with due regard to patient care, clinical responsibility, radiation protection and effective use of technology.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(A) OPERATIONS AND CLINICAL (80%)
- Be clinically and technically competent in performing angiographic (Cardiac and Vascular) and additional modalities including SPECT scan where necessary.
- Perform and assisting to cardiologist and vascular interventionist all angiographic examinations on patients with clinically accepted standards described in the SOP; with due regards to radiation safety, patient care and clinical requirement.
- Participate in the maintenance of a round-the-clock angiography service by rotating for emergency stand by on call.
- Being on-call for relief staff for emergency case for both cardiac case and vascular case by roster.
- Ensure good working condition of the angiography machines and other machines within the cneter including ultrasound and SPECT machine by performing regular quality assurance checks and control, notifying vendors and senior staff of equipment problems.
- Observe all radiation safety protection rules with regard to patients, staff and the public.
- Responsible for the good housekeeping and inventory of his/her workstation.
- Ensure maintenance of proper records of cases done consistent with good angiography practice.
- May perform more advanced angiographic and SPECT imaging with relevant experience and training.
- Provide guidance for quality control, practical teaching of students and juniors in patient care and clinical areas of angiography.
(B) GENERAL (20%)
- Assist in patient management such as preparing, explaining, appointments, statistics, and sending the necessary angiographic image in the system.
- Supervise junior staff working with him/her.
- Assists in data collection.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Recognised Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Competent in angiography/nuclear medicine and conversant in angiographic/MIBI scan processing, quality control and troubleshooting of angio and nuclear medicine equipment.
(B) PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
- Radiation Licences under Radiation Protection Act (Chapter 262)
ABNORMAL PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITION
- Radiation hazard, physical lifting of patients, heavy and others (pertaining to hospital environment).
