KEY Responsibilities:
1. Research & Innovation:
- Lead research initiatives focused on underwater robotics, including navigation, machine learning algorithms, and sensor integration.
- Drive innovation to enhance the performance, autonomy, and efficiency of Roverclean and future robotic products.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in underwater robotics.
2. Product Development:
- Oversee the development and improvement of Alicia Bots’ underwater robotic systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of robotics solutions.
- Evaluate technical feasibility and scalability of proposed robotic solutions.
3. Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of robotics engineers and researchers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure team alignment with company goals.
4. Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a long-term R&D strategy for underwater robotics in alignment with company objectives.
- Define research priorities, set milestones, and monitor project timelines and deliverables.
5. Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Build strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research labs, and technology partners.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and technical forums.
6. Technical Documentation:
- Ensure accurate and thorough technical documentation for all research projects and product developments.
- Prepare technical papers, reports, and patents where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on underwater systems or marine technology.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in underwater robotics research or robotics product development.
- Proven track record of leading R&D teams and delivering successful robotic systems or projects.
- Experience with underwater navigation systems, sonar technologies, and AI/ML integration in robotic systems.
- Previous experience in the maritime, offshore, or defense industries is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in robotics control systems, underwater communication systems, and sensor technologies.
- Strong programming skills in languages like C++, Python, or ROS (Robot Operating System).
