Our client, a China trading MNC, is looking to start up a new office for the trading of Furniture and Fixture for showroom in Singapore. They are hiring Director to spearhead the development.
Key Responsibilities:
Import and Export Documentation:
- Be knowledgeable in the preparation of import and export documents, including invoices, shipping documents, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with import and export laws, regulations, and trade compliance requirements.
- Advise the company on regulatory changes and their impact on import and export activities.
Goods Sourcing:
- Identify and source products and materials for import and export, considering quality, cost, and availability.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and international partners.
Logistics Management:
- Coordinate and oversee the logistics of shipments, including transportation, customs clearance, and delivery.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with international trade, including currency exchange fluctuations, political instability, and supply chain disruptions.
Reporting:
- Generate reports on import and export activities, including key performance indicators and compliance metrics.
- Provide regular updates to management on trade-related developments.
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in the trading of construction materials will be essential
- Proven experience as an Import and Export Specialist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using import/export software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
