Job Summary

The Group has announced a Productivity and Simplification programme, Fit for Growth (‘FFG’) to the market that seeks to drive efficiencies across the organisation. The programme will also enable the Bank to better take advantage of the growth opportunities that exist across the business divisions. This role sits within the Treasury Fit for Growth (‘FFG’) programme that aims to simplify, standardize, and digitise Treasurys’ processes. The role will help drive forward scalable operations and provide a platform for business growth and improved employee experience.

1. Spearhead Initiatives through the execution phase in 2025: track effectiveness of the initiatives identified; work with manager to ensure these are on track and help remediate issues identified.
2. Design Target Operating Model (‘TOM’) for the various hubs across Treasury (Liquidity, IRRBB, FTP, RRP) aligning the cluster and group models to a global consistent model.
3. Engagement with GCFO to ensure consistency of how we’re looking at FFG initiatives and ensuring Treasury is up to speed with GCFO requirements.
4. Engagement with COO partners within technology and data and analytics with a view to have an understanding of the overlap with the overall FFG initiative and identifying any further synergies from automation of processes.
5. Central Programme Governance management with GCFO partners.
6. Roles and Skillset: work on gap assessment of Treasury and GFS skills requirements vs. where we are currently and considerations to minimise/close these gaps out through training, upskilling etc.)

Strategy

• Treasury FFG representative – Work closely with hub leads in clusters to ensure local in country processes have been articulated correctly. Consider inconsistencies between regions and understand further scope of offshoring activities to our GFS partners
• Future Vision and Strategic Alignment of group and cluster processes to ensure global consistency across all treasury hubs
• Tools, Data and Analytics – leverage architecture strategy to achieve process standardization and excellence.
• Stakeholder engagement & communication – engage key stakeholders across Treasury to gather insights, build support, and effectively communicate the rationale and benefits of FFG programme.
• Process standardization and centralisation – identify opportunities to create central service functions, simplify processes and cross-functional synergies.

Business

• Ensure that sustainable long-term solutions are in place so that any gains and improvements in ways of working across Treasury are embedded and continued on an ongoing basis.
• Have in-depth understanding of FFG initiatives identified within Treasury to drive forward optimisation of investment spend.
• Design and implement best in class Country Operating Model across clusters to drive continued organisation effectiveness.
• Work closely with Treasury leaders and elected programme leads to ensure that objectives are clear, and delivery is tracked and reviewed on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services industry in roles involving technology transformation, change management and organisational re-design.

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the development of new Recovery and Resolution operational cost process within the Group Stress Testing team, to support the Group’s Valuation in Resolution (ViR) Valuation 3 and Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCiR) capability. The role will be responsible for establishing strong process interlinkages between the two resolution barriers that fulfil the regulatory requirements of both resolution barriers. This requires a deep understanding of the BoE’s resolution requirements, particularly section 166, and good project management skills to drive complex changes spanning across various business and technology teams. The job entails understanding the bank’s operational process and translating analysis and processes to financial modelling outputs. It offers a unique opportunity to learn about the operations and financials of the bank and to deliver insights that influence strategy and financial planning.

Strategy

• Develop the strategic requirements for Recovery & Resolution cost-related processes, and work with OCiR and Finance stakeholders to establish strong process interlinkages and translating it to financial outputs.
• Ensure that the established processes are robust, fulfils the resolution timelines and both OCiR’s and ViR’s regulatory requirements and objective. All requirements should be effectively implemented and tested.
• Embed the processes into BAU and deliver insights from scenario modelling that inform the Group’s restructuring strategies, recovery plan and corporate plan, including combined capital and liquidity stresses.

o Engage business and COOs to translate the bank’s operational considerations into financial forecast.

Department/Job Overview:

The Security Transfers team handles the security asset onboarding process for Private Banking clients.

You will be an effective teammate, actively involved in the daily business by supporting timely and efficient settlement of all security transactions across markets that represent new asset inflows into the bank. The process is a crucial one that kick-starts the support of the Wealth Management business. Asset transfers require timely processing while maintaining a high standard of control and accuracy; the team also ensures any queries and coordination required are followed up timely and expertly.

Key Responsibilities:

• You shall liaise with transfer counterparty to negotiate and agree on transfer details and timeline.
• You are responsible for processing all instructions in accordance to the trade details and ensure accuracy in the SWIFT instruction sent to custodian.
• You will follow up transfer cases to ensure smooth street settlement of the transfer.
• You are to ensure all transfers are processed by EOD accurately.
• You will maintain and ensure that all trade documentation is properly filed and archived.
• You have ability to liaise with custodians/counterparties/front office to resolve disputes and discrepancies.

Responsibilities include:

• To promote efficiency and independence in our front to back process flows by focusing on timely and accurate handling of client instruction validation, and professional and friendly client callbacks, related to areas including: Ad-hoc fund transfer, Cheques/Cashier Order deposit and Issuance, Security Transfer
• Support the onboarding/termination of Stock Lending Borrowing for WM clients and liaison with HK IRD for HK securities for tax exemption.
• Coordinate and support IPO documentation process with Execution desk, external brokers and legal teams.
• To manage all incoming Front Office issues/escalations related day to day instruction handling in a timely, accurate and customer friendly manner.
• To facilitate process change and continuous improvements within above-mentioned areas, by addressing issues and participating in projects and initiatives to improve efficiency either within or outside the team.
