The Network Operations Engineer ensures network stability and oversight, focusing on routing, switching, perimeter security, traffic management, and emerging technologies like Software Defined Networking. They require a basic understanding of networking protocols, the ability to adopt new technologies, and strong troubleshooting skills using proactive and reactive tools, all aligned with the firm's standards and policies.
This role involves collaboration with internal teams, external providers, and stakeholders, including architecture, engineering, and management, with occasional interaction with senior leadership. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in diverse teams are essential. Adherence to established standards, templates, and systems is critical to the success of the role and the organization.
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years’ experience in Networking-related disciplines within a design, implementation, or operations role
- Basic understanding of JIRA, Confluence, Agile framework & SCRUM ceremonies
- Relevant Industry certifications in Network Technologies
- Cloud or Software Defined Networks knowledge and experience
- Experience with SDN; Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Arista CloudVision
- Experience with SDWAN, preferred if on CloudGenix (Palo Alto)
- Experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, YAML or Django, API calls (to ticketing systems and network devices), and frontend web development
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience with other network technologies
