DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and work with database tools, such as BIM (building information modelling).
- Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers
- Help design with engineering techniques
- Help the engineers they work for by spotting problems with plans and designs
- Work under the supervision of engineers
- Add details to architectural plans from their knowledge of building techniques
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers
- Specify dimensions, materials and propose new layout to suit site condition
- Able to work or go to site taking measurement & site checking during construction until final As Built drawing handover complete
- Drawing control and filing
- Must pay close attention to details so that the plans they are helping to build are technically accurate to the outlined specifications.
- Work closely with engineers and other designers or contractor to make sure that the final plans are accurate. This requires the ability to take advice and constructive criticism.
- Work under strict deadlines and efficiently in order to produce the required output according to set schedules.
- Ad hoc duties assigned by Supervisor/HOD
Skills/Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD/BIM
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Decision making ability and leadership skills.
