The Company

The client is a growing and prominent player within the shipping industry with a network of offices overseas. As they have been growing from strength to strength, there is now a need to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their growing team in Singapore.

The Position

Working closely and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be in charge of the financial accounting and statutory reporting for the group, subsidiaries, branches and joint venture companies. The accountant will be involved in month end closing, preparation of group financial statements, annual reporting packs, and the preparation of monthly balance sheet. There will be a need to liaise with external auditors and be involved in any ad-hoc projects.

The Person

To succeed in this role, candidates should ideally have at least 2 years of working experience with an Accountancy Degree or a qualified CA/ ACCA. Candidates from Big 4 are also welcomed to apply. The successful individual is expected to have strong communication/interpersonal skills, a good team player, meticulous and be able to work under pressure and tight deadline. Our client is a rapidly growing retail business with offices and operations in Southeast Asia, with an aim to expand its retail outlets across the region. As a result of their growth, they are currently seeking an Accountant to join their regional office in Singapore.

The Position

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Accountant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day accounting operations, monthly/yearly closings, annual budgeting, forecasting, and maintenance of accurate financial records. The role will also involve assisting in the preparation of audit and tax schedules, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure data accuracy. Additionally, the accountant will be expected to actively participate in ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

The Person

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in accounting/finance, with those having experience in the retail industry having an added advantage.
