Job Description: Quantity Surveyor Manager

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor Manager, you will play a strategic leadership role in driving the success of large-scale infrastructure and built environment projects. You will manage the cost planning, procurement strategy, and commercial risk assessments, ensuring the financial efficiency and contractual compliance of high-value, complex projects. Your expertise will support the organization’s mission to deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance on complex project issues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Cost Management & Estimation: Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts to ensure project profitability and adherence to timelines.
• Procurement & Contract Administration: Oversee procurement strategies, tender documentation, contract negotiations, and administration of contracts such as FIDIC and NEC.
• Risk Management: Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies to manage potential financial exposures.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and financial goals.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Provide regular financial reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, SISV, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or residential projects.
• Strong understanding of contract law, cost management principles, and procurement practices.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in project management software and tools such as BIM or CostX.
