Summary:
The Radiographer will provide a full range of diagnostic imaging services, focusing on quality, patient care, efficiency, and productivity. The role includes performing imaging services across general radiography (e.g., X-Ray, OT, and fluoroscopy) and supporting other modalities as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct all diagnostic imaging services, adhering strictly to hospital SOPs and quality standards.
- Ensure accuracy in identifying patients, observing radiation safety protocols, and confirming procedural consent per SOP guidelines.
- Deliver high-quality images by ensuring optimal film quality, correct labeling, and proper completion of the requested examination before sending for reporting or releasing as wet-film to patients.
- Accurately enter examination codes into the system to match the requested procedures.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, including what to expect and estimated duration, ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable.
- Ensure patient safety and attend to their physical and emotional needs during and after the examination.
- Take precautions to protect patients, staff, and the public from unnecessary exposure to ionizing radiation.
- Perform on-call and after-hours duties as needed, ensuring prompt, high-quality service aligned with hospital standards.
- Conduct daily quality assurance procedures on equipment per manufacturer recommendations to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Manager.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Radiography) or Diploma in Radiography from a recognized institution.
- Registered with valid AHPC practicing certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in diagnostic imaging, with exposure to sub-specialties like CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Operation Threaten (OT), Ultrasound and fluoroscopy preferred.
- Previous experience in managing modality areas is advantageous and may qualify candidates for senior positions.
- Working knowledge of the PACS system is added advantages.
