Key job responsibilities
As a VMware Specialist SA in the ASEAN Specialist Team, you bring in the critical VMware experience that will help us address the requirements of our customer’s workloads. You will be the go-to person for providing guidance on AWS architectures and best practices for customer workloads. In this role you will be

• Architecting for running customer workloads on AWS.
• Helping customers modernise their workloads leveraging the power of AWS.
• Authoring blog posts, whitepapers etc. showcasing your thought leadership
• Representing AWS in large conferences.

Basic qualifications

• Strong understanding of VMware technologies like vSAN, NSX & vSphere among others
• Strong understanding of resilience features such as vSphere High Availability, vMotion, and DRS
• Understanding of VMware vRealize and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products and techniques.
• Familiarity with infrastructure architecture- network, storage & security among others.
• Knowledge of architecting solutions on AWS.

Basic qualifications

• 5+ years of Security and Compliance experience – must have strong experience and understanding of customer security/compliance requirements.
• 10+ years of experience in any other following or related to Technology Architect, Consultant, Cloud Architect, Technical Lead, Software Developers, Engineering Lead, Sales Engineer, Pre Sales Engineer or Systems Engineers, etc.
• Can create proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components.
• Can take the lead on a complex technical project, which may require the participation of other teams to deliver.
• Able to create technical content that is easily adopted and reusable by others.

Preferred qualifications

At AWS, we’re hiring highly technical Cloud Consulting Consultants to help our partners develop technical expertise and capacity, while also collaborating with our customers and partners on key engagements. Our consultants will deliver proof-of-concept projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on key customer solutions such as web applications, networking enterprise applications, monitoring, backup, security, disaster recovery & DevOps transformations.

• Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field business development, marketing, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Simple DB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.
• Solutions - Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in on-site visits with prospective customers, understanding customer requirements, and proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
• Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
• Insights - Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services.
• Support Proserve ESM in pre-sales, including creation of AWS architectures, scoping clarification and estimation of efforts
• Be an individual contributor and mentor a team of delivery architects in the delivery of launched Proserve opportunities

Basic qualifications

• 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience and 5+ years of database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience
• 7+ years of consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience
• 5+ years of software development with object oriented language experience
• 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience
• 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 5+ years consulting or implementing cloud infrastructure for Singapore Public Sector Customers
