About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Java Application Support and AMS Specialist. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in application maintenance and support (AMS), vendor management, and a strong understanding of Java coding. This role focuses on working with outsourced AMS models in dynamic business environments outside of tech firms.
Key Responsibilities
Application Maintenance and Support (AMS):
- Support the Application Support Manager in overseeing AMS operations.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to onboard vendors and ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.
- Review vendor deliverables such as change requests, incident reports, and resource utilization summaries.
- Manage incident, release, and change management processes.
- Prepare monthly service reports and assess vendor performance.
Vendor Management:
- Work closely with vendors to resolve issues promptly and minimize business disruptions.
- Ensure vendors adhere to processes and organizational standards.
Project Management:
- Oversee and deliver application enhancements and change requests with vendors or internal teams.
BAU Operations:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies through root cause analysis, knowledge management, and performance optimization.
- Periodically review and update knowledge bases to reflect current business processes.
- Provide support for applications outside the scope of AMS and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
- At least 5 years of experience in application maintenance and support, with a strong focus on vendor management.
- A minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Proficiency in ITIL methodologies; ITIL certification is a plus.
- Technical skills, including:Java (version 8 and above), Unix/RedHat scripting, middleware (Weblogic, Tomcat, SpringBoot).
Automation tools, build tools (Maven, Jenkins), and databases (Oracle, MSSQL).
SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
- Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive attitude and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Experience in the logistics or port operations industry is an advantage.
