As the Lead of ABS Global Simulation Center, you will be actively engaged in driving industry-leading research and development associated with Modeling and Simulation.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the ABS Global Simulation Center, in charting the path forward for the marine and offshore industry in the field of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) with focus on the following areas:M&S of systems onboard of ships or offshore platforms such as power and propulsion systems, electrical system, and fuel gas supply systems
M&S of ship and fleet operation in seaway
M&S of maritime ecosystems such as green shipping corridors
Virtual testing of complex systems using Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Software-In-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL)
Model-based plan review and survey
Simulation-based Energy Efficiency Evaluation for new build and retrofit
Activities will include:
- Collaboration with industry stakeholders on joint research initiatives
- Development of guidelines address the use of the technology
- Application of software tools to support design, verification & validation
- Actively promote the services and capabilities of ABS throughout the technical and business community.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in the energy industry, shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, university, or classification society.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or other related discipline; MSc or PhD is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ Experience in managerial position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of ship systems such as onboard power, propulsion, electrical, and control systems.
- Knowledge of classification rules and industry standards regarding power and electrical systems
- Knowledge and experience in simulation software such as Amesim, Simulink, ETAP, and SKM would be an advantage.
- Strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent command of the English language.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
