Job Overview:

The Applications Engineer (AE) represents technical aspects of business development and project definition. AE is responsible for providing full technical support for Business Development/Sales of all Anaergia Projects from the origination phase through contract negotiation and hand over to Anaergia Project Execution Team with all required specifications and budget development. Consistently manage the assigned engineering activities in preparing project documents in compliance with project schedule and observing the correctness and the completeness of the provided information.

The AE’s goals can be summarized as follow:

· Design phase: providing technical support to the Sales Team by assessing technical information and develop conceptual/preliminary design of integrated solutions for projects using both Anaergia and third party technologies.

· Proposal phase: Cost and price calculation using Anaergia tools and basing design on Anaergia Design Manual recommendations, lessons learned and best practices

· Provide technical documentation and cost data for the Contracts, Sales, and Marketing teams and help negotiate technical issues at customer level.

· Permanent support to Sales during the proposal phase interfacing with client, client engineers, subconsultants, contractors and permitting agencies as required.

· Quickness and flexibility in responses to urgent questions from project managers, project Engineers and sales managers.

· Provide integrated view of the project and forge strong links between all internal and external project stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated technical approach for all projects.

Job Responsibilities:

The AE’s tasks includes:

· Provide technical and commercial support and product advice for existing and future product portfolio within the areas of solid waste treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, nutrient recovery and wastewater treatment.

· Develop Front End Engineering Documents (FEED) including Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) and general arrangement drawings during bid development and project development as necessary.

· Liaise and develop new Asian vendor database.

· Review and appraise customer specifications and provide summary notes including the specification’s alignment or otherwise with Anaergia’s Products and Technologies.

· Design systems, including biological processes using existing tools and process blocks in coordination with the Global Process Engineering Team.

· Process customer inquiries and orders; Analyze customer requirements and development of offers in close consultation with the Sales Team; Obtain, compile and process information about competitors and the market.

· Prepare proposals and price calculation according to the company guidelines and the implemented processes; Request quotations from defined and selected subcontractors and pre-negotiate the received quotes.

· Actively participating in Offer Preparation during the proposal phase to note any deviations; Participate in finding solutions in coordination with internal manufacturing departments and the sales manager.

· Compile all relevant technical documents for the proposal and / or for the contract.

· Support Sales department in request phase for pre-qualifications.

· Record all project relevant documents and costing data on the within the database.

· Perform continuous maintenance of costing data base in conjunction with the Global Applications Team.

· Support and coordinate preliminary design activities during project development of Anaergia Build Own Operation Business including site/civil, electrical, mechanical, structural as well as permitting and grant application activities as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

· Holds a bachelor’s degree in: Chemical Engineering / Mechanical engineering/ Environmental Engineer/ Residential water management or another high technical education or equivalent with a focus on municipal and environmental engineering.

· Fresh graduates are warmly welcomed. 1 to 3 years of working experience as an Applications Engineer or Process Engineer within the Industrial Plant business, preferable in solid waste treatment, wastewater treatment is considered highly advantageous.

· Understanding of all MS Office tools and ability to adapt to new digital tools.

· Basic understanding of process plants including chemical processes.

Technical Skills

The AE has the following technical skillsets:

· Good understanding of basic processes like wastewater treatment, biogas, anaerobic digestion and/or municipal solid waste (will be preferred).

· Understanding of mass and energy balance, equipment sizing.

· Ability to use MS office tools, AUTOCAD software (will be preferred).

Job Overview

To establish and maintain a solid sales pipeline, which guarantees the achievement/improvement of the established economic targets of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

· Identify system solution capital sale leads and new Build-Own-Operate; manage relationships with owners, managers, business leads; shepherd lead through contract execution.

· Manage technical/regulatory/contractual development activities with support from back office technical and financing resources.

· Review and refresh marketing efforts, expand in existing markets, develop new market penetration strategies.

· Contact potential customers and partners, including cold calls to generate leads

· Initiate, follow-up, acquire, maintain, and manage the sales network (internal and external) in the market of competence (Asia, Australia and New Zealand)

· Collaborate to set-up and achieve an annual sales target

· Build-up, maintain and improve a solid pipeline of projects and a strong customer base

· Collaborate with internal management, technical, engineering and other department to develop competent solutions to meet customer need

· Follow through and negotiate to close contracting of sales

· Representing the company on the market of competence in trade fair and communication events

· Collect market intelligence and return feedback on the interested market sector to internal structures

· Achieve annual sales target.

· Monitor and communicate new products, industry trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and lessons learned

- Represent the company with potential customers, public and private

- Ensure that the movements and activities in the business territory, own and of the entire sales network, take place safely and in compliance with the rules in force

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following area, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Economics, or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior position in sales and business development activities in Asia in the industry of environmental services, wastewater and waste treatment, waste to energy, or renewable energy area and should have proven track record.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Deep technical understanding of wastewater, biogas, anaerobic digestion, renewable energy and/or waste management and recycling process.

· Excellent negotiating, networking and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge about national regulations for the design of waste treatment, renewable energies and biogas plants.

· Skills in all MS Office tools and ability to adapt to new digitaltools

· Excellent in English, reading, written and spoken.

· Ability to speak another regional language would be an advantage

To do their job with adequate professionalism and with the right "sense of priority", the Sales Director must understand how their activity influences other functions and how other functions can influence, positively or negatively, the achievement of their objectives.

The competences must include, but not be limited to:

· Principles of plant sizing, and process design

· Project costing and budgeting

· Construction process, times and modes

· Capital expenditures, and O&M expenditures

· Return on investment in project

· Management policies of after-sales activities

Preferred competency:

· Knowledge of additional foreign languages, in particular referring to the geographical area of activity.
