Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with expertise in derivatives, financial products, and market data. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of vanilla products and derivatives, their valuation/pricing approaches, and market practices. This role requires strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to bridge the gap between stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document functional requirements from stakeholders and effectively communicate these to development and QA teams.
- Facilitate requirements workshops with stakeholders such as Front Office, Middle Office, and Finance users to elicit, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
- Lead and manage issues during UAT/Sprints, ensuring all requirements have proper traceability.
- Collaborate with Technology & Operations teams to deliver structured, well-thought-out solutions aligned with business needs.
- Act as a bridge between business users and technology teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding.
- Provide prompt responses to issues raised by stakeholders, leveraging business, operational, and technical expertise to recommend sound solutions.
- Support the development and implementation of solutions by coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of derivative product characteristics, including product structures, valuation, and pricing information.
- Strong knowledge of vanilla products and derivatives, with familiarity with general market practices.
- Proficiency in the basic concepts of valuation/pricing approaches for vanilla products and derivatives.
- Knowledge of market data and its applications in financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python or Excel Macros.
- Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or related fields, or equivalent professional certifications such as CFA (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate discussions effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in financial markets, particularly in derivative products and valuation.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience participating in sprints or UAT.
