We are seeking a Director, Chief of Staff to join the Asia Executive Office. In this role the Director will be working with the Head of Asia Pacific on day-to-day business management, coordinating initiatives across the Firm, and managing a cadence of operating rhythms and routines for the business; all while ensuring diligent tracking of key decisions and actions emerging from these routines.
As a representative of Head of Asia Pacific, the Director must have exceptional EQ as they will interact with a variety of constituents, manage an array of priorities on a day-to-day basis and must be able to respond quickly and accurately on time-sensitive deliverables. The Director will require knowledge of all business areas, exceptional relationship management, communication and influencing skills at all levels, and a strong focus on execution. The role includes involvement in the strategic priorities for the firm and the region and is expected to be a transformational learning opportunity for a high-potential candidate.
The ideal candidate is skilled at connecting the dots, is highly organized and detail oriented, and operates with the highest degree of integrity and judgment. The position requires flexibility and a high ability to meet, manage and exceed strict deadlines and deliver under pressure.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a versatile and trusted “right-hand” project manager and advisor the Head of Asia Pacific, and work closely with the Head of Strategy and the Asia Pacific Business leaders.
- Support Head of Asia Pacific and Asia Business Leaders in all aspects of organic growth, including awareness of market trends and competitor activities, conceiving and developing new business ideas, driving buy-in and budget support discussions with senior management as well as executing the business strategy.
- Directly support the Head of Asia Pacific on deliverables, materials and talking points for a variety of forums including leadership meetings, town halls, external presentations and conferences, leadership offsites and press opportunities.
- Manage the weekly/monthly/quarterly machine. Drive strategic business review meetings and KPI discussions. Anticipate issues, manage agendas, and track follow ups.
- Ensure mechanisms are in place to follow-through on key decisions and actions emerging from management meetings and discussions.
- Partner with the Office of the Co-Presidents and Asia Business Leaders on Asia Executive priorities, including tracking and measuring progress. Facilitate decision-making and activate and align execution against critical priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the firm to help drive Asia’s agenda and ensure the right flow of internal discussions / communications.
- Assist with ad hoc projects to support Human Capital, Strategy and Corporate Communications.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, asset manager, or in a corporate strategy role, ideally with a focus on related business lines of credit, private equity/opportunistic, or asset management.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to present ideas succinctly and effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment; demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines with a client service-oriented mentality.
- Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities, demonstrates a proactive, positive attitude toward given tasks.
- Growth mindset, interested in learning about new partnership opportunities and cutting-edge industries, and topics or discipline.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive information and confidential situations.
- Team-oriented and collaborative attitude is a must.
