The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining servers and supporting fixtures and infrastructure in Data Centers located within Asia Pacific region. In this role you will focus on developing and sustaining solutions through communication and coordination with Apple Data Center teams and Business Groups to help deliver a solid infrastructure and services to meet global business objectives. We seek a self-starter, visionary team player with strong infrastructure cabling capabilities to drive standards as well as innovative methodologies to achieve these objectives.
Description
You will help complete projects in the deployment and maintenance of compute servers, including cabling infrastructure and DCIM elements. You will provide DC incident management and change control to prevent and/or manage failure scenarios leading to the recovery of services with improvement plans to mitigate future occurrence. A proven track record in vendor management for infrastructure expansion, enforce compliance with technical specifications and quality standards is also needed. You will lead material movements with Engineers, Project Managers and/or Customer Business teams on executing movements within required delivery timelines. Ensure required actions are implemented in Apple systems to facilitate job function, identify issues and perform Root Cause Analysis to prevent future operational impact.
Minimum Qualifications
- Expertise with data center operational tasks, including rack sizing, construction, equipment installation and decommissioning. Willing to do hands-on activities.
- Hands-on experience with various copper and fiber cabling structures, cable infrastructure design and labeling methodology.
- Expertise with break-fix and incident management.
- Experience with DCIM (Data Centre Infrastructure Management) tools. Hands-on operations in securing and monitoring equipment with enterprise level management tools.
- Possesses a global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
- The proven ability to manage key stakeholder interests while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be capable of independent problem solving and self-motivated.
- Strong communicator at all levels with excellent oral and written skills to a variety of audiences.
- Prior experience in DC operations, supply chain, DC Construction would be beneficial.
