- Financial Oversight:
- Lead and manage financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for logistics operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, with a focus on logistics cost management.
- Collaborate with the procurement, logistics, and production teams to drive cost reduction strategies and enhance logistics efficiency.
- Cost Management & Optimization:
- Develop and implement cost control measures across procurement, inventory, and logistics to optimize overall logistics financial performance.
- Monitor and evaluate variances between actual costs and budgeted costs, providing actionable insights for corrective actions.
- Negotiation:
- This role will partner with Logistics head to negotiate with Carriers and breakbulk owners to ensure costs stay competitive. Role will provide independent feedback on where rates can be reduced further. Work closely with freight forwarder, barge suppliers, carriers, breakbulk suppliers and assist Logistics head for negotiations on rate contracts for all the activities under logistics management.
- Logistics Finance Analytics:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of logistics processes, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement financial models to support decision-making and provide insights into the profitability of logistics operations.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, company policies, and logistics contracts.
- Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard assets within the logistics.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Reporting & KPIs:
- Develop and track key financial and operational performance metrics (KPIs) related to logistics activities.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into logistics performance and financial impact.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations and sales, to streamline financial processes within the logistics.
- Provide financial leadership and support for logistics-related projects and strategic initiatives. This position works closely with business FC’s.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial control and reporting accuracy across the logistics.
- Drive initiatives to integrate advanced financial tools and systems for better logistics visibility and control.
