Position Overview
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming Aprisium’s innovative analyzer designs into scalable, manufacturable products. Your expertise in CAD design and regulatory compliance will be critical to ensuring product designs are optimized for production, while meeting stringent environmental and safety standards. You will take products from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing, and full-scale manufacturing, ensuring efficiency and quality at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of Aprisium’s IoT-enabled analyzers with a strong focus on CAD modeling and detailed engineering design.
- Use CAD tools (e.g., Fusion360, AutoCAD, Slicers) to create detailed mechanical and electrical designs, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
- Collaborate with product development and R&D teams to convert innovative prototypes into fully manufacturable designs.
- Develop and maintain design specifications, selecting appropriate materials and components for long-term field operations.
Manufacturing Process Development:
- Establish and optimize manufacturing processes for Aprisium analyzers, integrating automation and lean manufacturing principles.
- Utilize CAD models for developing and refining manufacturing tools and fixtures, ensuring ease of production and assembly.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure that parts and materials are procured and manufactured to precise specifications.
- Implement process improvements that enhance manufacturability and minimize production waste, focusing on environmental sustainability.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all product designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and environmental regulations (e.g., ISO standards, environmental safety protocols).
- Develop testing and validation protocols to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Perform rigorous testing of both prototype and production units, ensuring all products meet high-quality standards and pass regulatory audits.
- Maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and ensure that all products adhere to Aprisium's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Innovation and Technology Integration:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in IoT, autonomous systems, and manufacturing technologies.
- Work closely with the R&D team to integrate advanced IoT sensors and electronic systems into the analyzers, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Contribute to the ongoing innovation and improvement of Aprisium’s product lines, focusing on both cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
Sustainability and Cost Optimization:
- Focus on designing products and processes that align with Aprisium’s sustainability goals, including the use of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient manufacturing practices.
- Analyze production costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without sacrificing quality or performance.
- Minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing processes by reducing waste and energy consumption.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, with strong expertise in CAD software (e.g., Fusion360, AutoCAD, Cura) and simulation tools.
- Proven experience in taking products from concept to large-scale manufacturing, with a deep understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance for environmental monitoring devices or similar products, with experience in ISO and environmental safety standards (Especially European and US regulatory requirements).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including 3D Printing, Additive Manufacturing, CNC machining, injection molding, and electronic assembly.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization methodologies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies and experience in regulatory submissions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
