Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer role is based in Singapore and will work closely with the IT Manager in Singapore as well as the rest of the Group IT in overseeing the company's technology operations. This position will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of IT systems, providing technical support to end-users, and assisting with various IT projects. Additionally, they will ensure that our IT systems are effective, secure, and aligned with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

· Assist the Group IT across all office sites in managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including help desk support, system administration, and network management.

· Assist in Designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud solutions to support the company's business objectives.

· Monitor and optimize Azure services and resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

· Support the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure to ensure they are effective, secure, and aligned with our business objectives.

· Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems promptly.

· Collaborate with the IT Team and other stakeholders to plan and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

· Assist in ensuring the security of company data and systems through the implementation of security measures and protocols.

· Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry and make recommendations for their adoption.

· Collaborate with other departments to identify and address their IT needs and requirements.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology.

· Proven experience in a similar role, with at least 5 years of experience.

· Knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, including networking, security, cloud computing, and data management.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Knowledge of Azure services, including computer, storage, networking, and security.

· Experience with Azure management tools and technologies, such as Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager will be of added advantage

· Understanding of cloud computing principles and best practice will be of added advantage

Description of Role, Key Duties and Responsibilities

(i) As a Shipbroker, you may cover many disciplines, such as sale and purchase, dry cargo broking, tanker broking or container broking. However, it is more commonplace for Shipbrokers to specialize in one particular area.

(ii) Typical responsibilities of a Shipbroker would involve marketing of tonnage (ships) to customers/shippers/charterers. Negotiate spot/time charters to achieve maximum income for the owners

(iii) You would maintain records or tonnage within the company’s database

(iv) A Shipbroker is involved in many stages of setting up and negotiating deals, including presenting the business to potential clients, negotiating the main terms of a contract or sale, and seeing it through to its conclusion and any follow-up that may be involved

(v) Like any role that involves buying and selling, a good Shipbroker would build up a database of contacts and keep a close eye on the shipping market, interpreting trends and seeing opportunities for clients.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

(i) Highlighting fixture opportunities to clients;

(ii) Developing/expanding a client base;

(iii) Understanding the business strategy for the tankers division and seeking to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients;

(iv) Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the market space;

(v) Performing market analysis and providing market insight and trade ideas to clients;

(vi) Working with other members of the Arrow team across the division and internationally to meet client needs;

(vii) Servicing and developing client relationships, including by providing valuable and frequent communications with clients;

(viii) Assisting with charter parties and issuing recaps relating to charters for the transport of cargos on vessels.

(ix) Developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals

(x) Able to identify opportunities for growth, and assist with recruitment training and onboarding processes.

(xi) Minimum 5-10 years of proven track records

In addition:

1. Knowledge and experience is required in/of

(i) The maritime/shipping sector

(ii) Physical shipbroking and associated practices

(iii) Gas trading; and

(iv) IT systems commonly used by shipbrokers.
