We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Finance Department in our headquarters in Singapore as Accounts Officer. The dynamic team you would be working with is a valuable business partner within our company for over 25 years, providing top notch services to all departments and our international offices.
In this role you would be a proactive member of the Department in ensuring the smooth operation of the book of accounts, accurate and timely recording of business transactions and production of relevant reports as well as providing ad hoc support for planning and analysis.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance is a must and working experience in the shipping industry is of advantage. You should also be able to exchange information clearly and concisely and have high attention to detail. You should further have outstanding time management competency and be able to work in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Cash flow:
- Timely update of actual receipts for cash flow report
- Transaction processing:
- Process customer invoices on a timely basis
- Recording of sales commission for subsidiary offices
- Accounting for intercompany transactions
- Provide statement of accounts for customers
- Analysis:
- Prepare analysis of daily receipts
- Compliance:
- Prepare analysis and reconciliation for audits
- Provide support in tax compliance
Qualification and Personal Requirement:
- 3 - 5 years working experience in a similar role in the shipping industry.
- Minimum diploma in accounting or a business-related discipline.
- Qualification such as CAT or ACCA is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of IMOS (voyage management software) is an advantage.
- Keen interest in understanding the business of the company.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and concisely.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Knowledge of accounting principles and terminology;
- Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records;
- Ability to adhere to a strict timeline and work under pressure;
- Ability to organise records and files neatly.
