Role Overview:
· The Veterinary Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of Beecroft’s veterinary rehabilitation department.
· This role includes managing patient care, supervising staff, developing treatment protocols, ensuring high-quality rehabilitation services, and fostering relationships with clients, veterinarians, and other stakeholders e.g. other department veterinarians and veterinary nurses.
· The manager must possess both clinical expertise in veterinary rehabilitation and strong leadership/ operational management skills to ensure the success of the department.
Job Description:
> Rehabilitation Services Management
- Manage Beecroft Rehabilitation Department. Responsible for rostering and payroll of all rehabilitation department staff.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans for patients, including physical therapy, hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and other modalities.
- Ensure treatments align with the latest evidence-based veterinary rehabilitation best practices and scientific research.
- Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, ensuring efficiency and compliance with clinical good practices and standards.
- Manage budgets, resources, and supplies for the department.
> Collaboration with other Departments
- Collaborate with veterinarians from other departments and specialists to develop and provide guidance on rehabilitation plans.
> Collaboration with other Departments
- Provide consultation to patients and perform assessment of rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement customized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with veterinarians.
- Utilize rehabilitation techniques such as physical therapy, hydrotherapy, laser therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and exercise programs.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Educate pet owners on home care exercises, therapies, and maintenance plans.
> Leadership & Staff Supervision
- Provide training, mentorship and guidance to other veterinary rehabilitation therapists and assistants on rehabilitation.
- Participate in continuing education for the veterinary team on imaging advancements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent), Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Certification in veterinary rehabilitation (e.g., Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner [CCRP], Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist [CCRT], or equivalent.
- Experience or training in physical therapy, massage therapy, or related fields is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in veterinary rehabilitation or a related field. Experience in a leadership or managerial role is highly desirable.
