Job Description:
As a Barista & Bartender in our hybrid concept cafe and bar, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional beverage experiences to our diverse clientele. This position requires a blend of barista and bartender skills, catering to both coffee aficionados and cocktail enthusiasts. You will be responsible for crafting a variety of beverages with precision and creativity while providing excellent customer service in a dynamic environment. This position requires no prior experience, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the hospitality industry and gain valuable skills. You will receive on-the-job training to learn the art of coffee and cocktail preparation, along with customer service techniques.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Greeting and Building Rapport:
- Welcome customers warmly with a friendly smile and positive attitude
- Develop rapport with regular customers by learning their names, favourite drinks, and food items, creating a personalised experience
Menu Explanation and Customer Assistance:
- Familiarity with menu and ability to answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and other queries effectively
Drinks Expertise and Food Preparation:
- Learn and master various beverage recipes to consistently prepare high-quality drinks
- Assist with light food preparation, including wraps, pies and bites to complement drink offerings
Inventory Management:
- Maintain inventory levels by replenishing supply for essentials such as coffee beans, powders, syrups, sauces and etc
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished
Store Cleanliness:
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the dine-in area, display shelves, work area, and cutlery and etc
- Regularly clean and sanitise work areas, utensils, equipment, and high-touch surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
Point-of-Sale Operations:
- Operate POS systems proficiently to process orders, handle transactions accurately, and provide customers with receipts
Requirements:
- Ability to converse in both English and Mandarin Chinese
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Basic maths skills and familiarity with handling POS systems and cash transactions
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required - we are happy to share our knowledge!
