Assist the IT Executive in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel’s Information Technology systems and infrastructure. Provide first-line IT support to hotel staff and contribute to maintaining the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues encountered by hotel staff, documenting incidents and solutions for future reference.
- Assist the IT Executive in implementing and maintaining incident management policies and procedures, ensuring clarity in escalation and resolution processes.
- Support the IT Executive in monitoring and maintaining information systems and data processing operations.
- Perform routine system tasks, including setting up user accounts, managing software installations, and ensuring regular updates of antivirus programs.
- Conduct daily and monthly backups, verify the success of backup processes, and ensure secure storage of backup data.
- Collaborate with departments to assess IT needs and assist in implementing solutions that align with hotel policies and system capabilities.
- Ensure critical systems (e.g., servers and Property Management Systems) are operational, including managing automatic standby modes when required.
- Conduct regular checks for unauthorized programs, improper configurations, or potential security vulnerabilities, escalating issues to the IT Executive when needed.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of new technologies or system upgrades under the guidance of the IT Executive.
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT equipment and software, assisting in procurement and replacement when necessary.
Qualifications
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
- Basic knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with backup procedures and antivirus software management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide support to non-technical staff.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in a hospitality or service environment is an advantage but not required.
