As a Senior Technical Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to make your mark by ensuring the safe, economical, and efficient operation of the assigned equipment and vessels. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate, plan, and organize activities while managing stakeholders to ensure the equipment is in good technical condition. Through your efforts, you will contribute to the well-organized execution of projects, showcasing your expertise and commitment to excellence.
Your responsibilities as a senior technical superintendent
- Manage, monitor, and control the technical maintenance and certification of different equipment required for the project (e.g., vessels, barges, land-based equipment) and maintain the budget for equipment/vessel expenses.
- Regularly check the status of the PMS system in relation to expired planned maintenance, control machinery running hours, and schedule necessary works and vessel class/statutory inspections.
- Plan corrective repairs in cooperation with the vessel crew and other stakeholders, supervise and report on dry-docking works and substantial repairs, verify compliance with the Classification Society, and coordinate with third-party contractors for repairs and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate closely with the operational Superintendent on manpower and shift planning of the vessel crew, work closely with the Safety department to ensure all jobs comply with the Safety Management System (S.M.S), and provide regular updates on vessel/equipment status to the operational department.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team to purchase the correct spare parts and items relevant to the smooth operation of the equipment, and assign tasks to vessel crew regularly while monitoring their day-to-day activities.
- Record and maintain documentation of all works carried out, including third-party job completion reports, and work closely with the operations team to plan corrective repairs and ensure minimal equipment downtime.
Your qualities
You can make your mark as a senior technical superintendent
- Degree in Mechanics, Engineering, Marine, Geography, or a relevant equivalent, with 4 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Good software knowledge, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CAD, with full English proficiency (both written and spoken).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues of diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
- Organized and analytical way of working with excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, and a good team player. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment with various stakeholders.
- Flexibility in responding to project requirements and deliverables, which may occasionally cover weekends and public holidays. Motivated and interested in continuous improvement.
