Senior Operations Manager - Shipping
The Position:
You will join the vessel operations team, which is responsible for the day-to-day operation activities for the BTS Tankers’ fleet, reporting to the Head of Operations. You will operate several tankers in close cooperation with the Chartering and in-house Agency teams. In an exciting and fast-paced environment, you will have direct contact with customers, suppliers, terminals, and vessels to deliver an optimal and cost-efficient operation of our fleet and first-class customer service.
Job responsibilities:
- Operating of several tankers in close cooperation with the Chartering and in-house Agency teams.
- Communicating with charterers, brokers, agents, and vessels regarding vessel clearance, voyage orders, and vessel itineraries.
- In an exciting and fast-paced environment, you will have direct contact with customers, suppliers, terminals, and vessels. By monitoring vessel movement and voyage performance, you aim to deliver optimal and cost-efficient fleet operation and first-class service to customers.
- Ensure compliance with agreed charter party terms, oversee agency appointments, and handle letters of indemnity.
- Reviewing vessel stowage and tank cleaning plans.
- Bunker plans for the vessel and places orders promptly.
- Liaising with vessel owners/Tech managers for Oil major acceptance, investigation reports, and corrective measures when applicable.
- Issuing freight invoices on time as per CP and assisting the Demurrage Analyst for post-ops and claims.
Requirements:
- At least 5-7 years of shore experience in product- and/or chemical-tankers commercial operations. A seafaring background is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and aptitude to work as part of a team and on initiative.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a changing environment.
- Organized, meticulous, paying attention to details, but also able to focus on the bigger picture when necessary.
- Agreeable to flexible working hours (after office work including weekends will be required).
- Currently residing in Singapore.
- Good computer literacy is essential with Excel reports generation, IMOS experience.
