- Build an effective toolchain to improve development performance;

About the Team

The Security Assurance Team is researching offensive and defensive technology and skills to continuously improve the company's fundamental security, data security, and business security levels. We strive to minimize the impact of 0-day vulnerabilities and incidents. Our team provides a range of security services, including SDLC, vulnerability management, extreme critical risks discovery, supply chain security, network defense, red teaming, underground market crackdown, threat detection, emergency response, threat intelligence, and information security investigation.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for analysis, investigation and traceability of underground/blackmarket industry cases.

- Perform real-time analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices and systems, leveraging on in-depth analysis of understand industry exploitation chains and knowledge of most underground sources in non-China areas.

- Respond to user incident reports and evaluates the type and severity of security events.

- Maintain data sources feeding the log monitoring system, develop and maintain detection and alerting rules

- Identify recurring security issues and risks and develops mitigation plans and recommends process improvements.

Job Responsibilities

- Propose, plan, and execute Red Team Operations to determine if infrastructure components, systems and applications meet confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability, authorisation, and nonrepudiation standards based on realistic threats to the organization.

- Maintain a deep understanding of ByteDance Enterprise Products, how they work, and how they could be attacked or abused.

- Conducts security exercises that emulate real-world threats, TTPs that are most relevant to our organization.

About the Team

The Seed Foundation Machine Learning (ML) Systems team provides end-to-end (E2E) machine learning experience and machine learning resources for the company. The team builds heterogeneous ML training and inference systems based on GPU and AI chips and advances the state-of-the-art of ML systems technology to accelerate models such as stable diffusion and LLM.

The team is also responsible for research and development of hardware acceleration technologies for AI and cloud computing, via technologies such as distributed systems, compilers, HPC, and RDMA networking. The team is reinventing the ML infra for large scale language models. We have published papers at top tier conferences such as SIGCOMM, NSDI, EuroSys, OSDI, SOSP, MLSys, NeurIPS, etc.

Responsibilities:

- Optimizing large scale parallel training for state of the art deep learning algorithms such as large language models, multi-modality models, diffusion, reinforcement learning, etc

- Research and develop our machine learning systems, including accelerated computing architecture, management and monitoring

- Deploy the machine learning systems, distributed machine learning training and inference

- Manage cross-layer optimization of system and AI algorithms and hardware for machine learning (GPU, ASIC)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

- Bachelor or above degree in distributed, parallel computing principles and know the recent advances in computing, storage, networking, and hardware technologies;

- Familiar with machine learning algorithms, platforms and frameworks such as PyTorch and Jax.

About the team

The ByteDance Large Model Team is committed to developing the most advanced AI large model technology in the industry, becoming a world-class research team, and contributing to technological and social development. The Large Model Team has a long-term vision and determination in the field of AI, with research directions covering NLP, CV, speech, and other areas. Relying on the abundant data and computing resources of the platform, the team has continued to invest in relevant fields and has launched its own general large model, providing multi-modal capabilities.

The Machine Learning (ML) System sub-team combines system engineering and the art of machine learning to develop and maintain massively distributed ML training and inference system/services around the world, providing high-performance, highly reliable, scalable systems for LLM/AIGC/AGI.

In our team, you'll have the opportunity to build the large scale heterogeneous system integrating with GPU/NPU/RDMA/Storage and keep it running steadily and reliably, enrich your expertise in coding, performance analysis and distributed system, and be involved in the decision-making process. You'll also be part of a global team with members from the United States, China and Singapore working collaboratively towards unified project direction.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for ensuring our ML systems are operating and running efficiently for large model deployment, training, evaluation, and inference

- Responsible for the stability of offline tasks/services in multi-data center, multi-region, and multi-cloud scenarios

- Responsible for resource management and planning, cost and budget, including computing and storage resources

- Responsible for global system disaster recovery, cluster machine governance, stability of business services, resource utilisation improvement and operation efficiency improvement - Build software tools, products and systems to monitor and manage the mL infrastructure and services efficiently

- Be part of the global team roster that ensures system and business on-call support

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Computer Science, computer engineering or related fields;

- Strong proficiency in at least one programming languages such as Go/Python/Shell in Linux environment;

- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containers skills, and have ≥3 years of relevant operation and maintenance experience;

Preferred Qualifications

- Possess excellent logical analysis ability, able to reasonably abstract and split business logic, a strong sense of responsibility, good learning ability, communication ability, self-driven and good team spirit;

- Have good documentation principles and habits to be able to write and update workflow and technical documentation as required on time.

- Engage in the operation and maintenance of large-scale ML distributed system;

- Experience in operation and maintenance of GPU servers
