Responsibilities

- Responsible for the design and development of large-scale ML system architecture such as solving technical system problems on high concurrency, reliability, scalability, etc

- Develop end-to-end solutions on deep model inference for internal business units such as Search, Recommendation, and relevant Large Language Model (LLM) based systems etc

- Provide highly automated and extremely performant model optimization solutions for frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow. Some technical solutions includes subgraph matching, compilation optimization, model quantization, heterogeneous hardware, etc.;

- Manage the large-scale GPU computing power cluster for our global businesses by improving utilization rates of the computing power through methods such as elastic scheduling, GPU overselling, and task orchestration;

Minimum Qualifications:

- At least 3 years of experiences and above proficiency in C/C ++ and Python languages in the Linux environment, with relevant experience in large-scale machine learning systems or search and promote recommendation systems;

- Familiar with at least one machine learning framework (Tensorflow/PyTorch/MxNet or other self-developed frameworks).

- Background knowledge and experience in at least one of the following: GPU programming, compiler, model quantization, and GPU cluster scheduling.

- Have the ability to solve problems independently, a good team spirit, and excellent ability to disassemble complex problems.

- Have a strong sense of responsibility, good learning ability, communication skills, and self-drive.

- Have good working documentation habits and write updated workflow and technical documents as required in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the design and implementation of a global-scale machine learning system for feeds, ads and search ranking models.

- Responsible for improving use-ability and flexibility of the machine learning infrastructure.

- Responsible for improving the workflow of model training and serving, data pipelines and resource management for the multi-tenancy machine learning systems

- Responsible for designing and developing key components of ML infrastructure and mentoring interns

The team is responsible for infrastructure systems, including Storage/Computing/DB. We aim to be the leading SRE team across the industry. Team Introduction

The Business Infrastructure team aims to provide unified access layer and architecture depth services for the organisation's internal business lines and products. Based on the internal infrastructure, Volcano Engine (or other public clouds) has two types of Infrastructure providers and is responsible for the organisation's architecture stability, architecture disaster recovery and service experience.

The Middleware team is a bridge between the internal users and their important data stored in the infrastructure systems or public cloud service. In this team, we use a lot of modern techniques, like service mesh/governance, DTS for various types of storage, and different strong consistency models, to help users run the same copy of code in different service providers. At the same time, we build probing services to evaluate service quality between different providers and help users to reduce their costs.

What you will be doing:

1. Contribute to the data transfer service for different types of storage products and make it scalable, stable with high performance.

2. Work together with the service mesh team to build a fully functional/high-performance/robust storage mesh layer.

3. Build a service to manage the storage metadata, and their credentials as well, running on different public cloud platforms.

4. Build an SLA service to make the service quality on different public cloud platforms accurate, reliable, visualized, and easy to diagnose issues for users.

5. Work with the other teams in the company to join different services together to promote the impacts our products bring to the world.

What you should have:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields, with at least 3 years of relevant experience;

Team Introduction

The Business Infrastructure team aims to provide unified access layer and architecture depth services for the organisation's internal business lines and products. Based on the internal infrastructure, Volcano Engine (or other public clouds) has two types of Infrastructure providers and is responsible for the organisation's architecture stability, architecture disaster recovery and service experience.

The Middleware team is a bridge between the internal users and their important data stored in the infrastructure systems or public cloud service. In this team, we use a lot of modern techniques, like service mesh/governance, DTS for various types of storage, and different strong consistency models, to help users run the same copy of code in different service providers. At the same time, we build probing services to evaluate service quality between different providers and help users to reduce their costs.

What you will be doing:

1. Contribute to the data transfer service for different types of storage products and make it scalable, stable with high performance.

2. Work together with the service mesh team to build a fully functional/high-performance/robust storage mesh layer.

3. Build a service to manage the storage metadata, and their credentials as well, running on different public cloud platforms.

4. Build an SLA service to make the service quality on different public cloud platforms accurate, reliable, visualized, and easy to diagnose issues for users.

5. Work with the other teams in the company to join different services together to promote the impacts our products bring to the world.

What you should have:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields, with at least 5 years of relevant experience;

- Familiar with C++/Go/Java/Python program development (at least one), striving for high-quality code and focusing on the technical quality of the code.

- Familiar with Linux systems, with high proficiency in multi-threading and network programming;

- Familiar with large-scale distributed storage system design and implementation, such as Redis/DTS/KV Store/Graph.

- Independent thinking, able to take the initiative to identify problems, systematic problem analysis, and problem-solving skills.

- Have the ability to learn, explore, and research in unfamiliar areas.

Our team aims to provide reliable and efficient delivery of web content by reducing the physical distance between the source of data and the end user. We're building a geographically distributed network of edge servers linked to the origin server to improve connectivity. Our work will help our users massively speed up website load time, high-quality video streaming, and file download time.

This team combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed infrastructures. Our engineers are tasked to ensure the infrastructure services are reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable and cost-effective. About the Security Penetration Lab Team at ByteDance

The team is missioned to build infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team, you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and secure-by-design systems and solutions. Responsibilities

- Continuously design and conduct penetration testing to determine if infrastructure components, systems and applications meet confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability, authorisation, and nonrepudiation standards in the staging/production environment.

- Translate requirements into test plan, write and execute test scripts or codes in line with standards and procedures to determine vulnerability to attacks.

- Certify infrastructure components, systems and applications that meet security standards.

- To identify risks and actively take ownership to resolve any potential project issues.

- Conduct technical security reviews for any new products and feature requirements.

- Provide security engineering support to product teams to help identify potential security flaws in the early stages of SDLC.
