Reporting to the Technical Officer and Senior Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for preserving the good condition and functionality of the school premise. This includes maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, ventilation works and other building systems.

Responsibilities:

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure consistency with health and safety standards.
• Check work orders via the ticketing system daily and take on assigned work activities accordingly. This includes setting up and tearing down of events location.
• Ensure scheduled inspections, maintenance and repair work are conducted regularly and properly recorded. This includes the buildings (e.g. landscaping, painting, carpentry, pest control etc), equipments, electrical systems (e.g. replacing light bulbs/sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels etc), alarm systems (e.g. fire and protection), plumbing systems and manual repairs (e.g. fixing of locks, replacing of windows etc).
• Maintain the air conditioning and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Ensure emergency repairs are attended to promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain the inventory (e.g. tools and materials) in a tidy and appropriate manner.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and/or Technical Officer.

Requirements:

• Nitec in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in maintenance
• Good knowledge in general maintenance processes and methods
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Able to carry load of up to 25kg.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY (Main purpose of this job):

The Primary School Science Technician will support teachers in all aspects of science teaching with the PYP. This includes organising and maintaining resources and providing in-class support working with teachers and students where required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Science Specific Responsibilities

Science Resource Organisation

• Source, purchase, and catalogue resources
• Compile orders and liaise with suppliers and finance departments as/when required
• Manage a booking system for teachers and ensure the availability of suitable resources
• Coordinate the preparation of resources for lessons, including liaising with the coordinator, teaching staff and support staff
• Maintain an accurate inventory of resources to ensure that stock levels are maintained, resources are returned in working order and future requirements are identified
• Provide general assistance in the safe storage, transit and accessibility of resources in line with current health and safety guidelines

PYP Science laboratory

• Keeping the laboratory neat and tidy and equipment and resources stored
• Working with students on individual or class projects

In-class support

• Trial practical activities/experiments to troubleshoot potential challenges
• Support and assist teachers during practical activities
• Work with students on individual projects in class

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

• Post secondary education and or certification in an education-related field
• Prior experience working in an educational setting preferred

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY (Main purpose of this job):

• The Arts Technician manages the daily running and operations of the Arts Department (Visual Arts, Media, Music and Dramatic Arts).
• The Arts Technician assists with the procurement and management of programme resources and materials, the preparation of teaching materials, classroom support and events.
• The Arts Technician oversees the procurement of fixed assets items in the Arts Department, ensuring these items are tagged and listed in the fixed assets register, and maintaining an inventory system of these items.
• The Arts Technician manages the sign in/ out system of centralised equipment e.g. DSLRs, as well ensures the equipment are serviced and updated where applies

RESPONSIBILITIES (Key areas of responsibility):

• To responsibly and safely manage the Arts studios, teaching spaces and storage areas
• To carry out first line maintenance of tools, machines and equipment in studios and teaching spaces to ensure safety and reliability.
• To organize the cleaning and good order of the Art studios and their storage facilities.
• To prepare materials and equipment for Art lessons and projects, including preparation of demonstration materials and resources, and the stocking of classrooms with consumable items.
• Manage specialised IT equipment including, cameras, video cameras, projectors, microphones, lightings etc
• Efficient and safe storage of materials.
• Prepare orders of materials and equipment.
• Preparation of materials – trimming & resizing.
• Processing materials for re-use.
• Monitoring the cleaning of rooms, furniture and reporting any problems.

• To facilitate booking spaces (e.g. atrium, auditorium, library, Red Dot Convention Centre) and liaise with facilities and maintenance to ensure rehearsals and events are ready.
• To communicate with respective staff and faculty in regards to logistics and event planning for concerts, rehearsals, exhibitions, and other on-site or off-site school Arts functions.
• Responsible for level three and four hallway art display.

• Diploma in any discipline.
• Working experience in International School and being able to work effectively with others
