Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily laboratory activities, including in-process analyses, certifying tanks for product sales and laboratory support for ad-hoc projects.
• Participate in laboratory’s safety programs and maintain compliance to safety regulations and company’s safety standards.
• Develops working knowledge of analytical instruments and build foundation in instrument troubleshooting.
• Writes technical documents to describe accomplished work.
• Develops good communication skills and interface with other operations.
• Develop basic understanding of processes to facilitate daily analytical work.

Requirements:

• General understanding and practical application of laboratory techniques.
• Basic analytical techniques utilized in the Laboratory.
• Basic knowledge of statistical methods used in analyzing data.
• Good communication skills.
• Willing to be hands-on with laboratory instruments.
• Knowledge of:
• Principles of GC /HPLC/ICP
• Principles of statistical analyses
• Fresh graduate / Experienced in laboratory analyses
• Minimum Poly / Diploma

Responsibilities:

• Starts up and shuts down chemical process equipment according to established practices and procedures in order to begin or cease production in a safe and environmentally sound manner.

• Performs equipment line-ups and operates reactors, compressors and pumps according to established practices and procedures in order to maintain production of low-cost quality product.

• Consult with experienced technicians or TC (Team Captain) when a deviation is necessary.

• Performs gauging and transferring operations of raw materials, intermediate and finished products to storage tanks.

• Perform chemical weighing, preparation and mixes appropriately. • Works as a team member with maintenance to monitor and repair equipment to ensure reliability of the unit operation and safety of personnel involved. • Issue work permits when necessary.

• Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner and perform lab analysis using good housekeeping practices.

• Compare current operations with unit operational guidelines.

• Works as a member of the shift team to achieve measurable performance objectives by understanding and accepting roles and responsibilities within the shift team.

• Conduct proper shift relief and documentation in log book and log sheets.

Requirements:

• GCE ‘O’ Level or Nitec/Diploma in Chemical Process Technology

• 2-3 years of relevant working experience in chemical plant environment

• Able to handle: Electronic and Pneumatic instruments, Hand Tools, Lab analyzers and equipment, Portable pumps and hose fittings, Portable radio and Chemical processing equipment (fixed pumps)

• Able to maintain continuous learning behavior to become fully qualified to perform all duties and responsibilities with minimal guidance
