Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Engineer to join our team. The Purchasing Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for automotive components and materials, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that meet our specifications and standards. The role will involve collaborating closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and resolve any issues that may arise. Additionally, the Purchasing Engineer will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop sourcing strategies to meet their needs while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure the timely procurement of automotive components and materials.
2. Identify and qualify new suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to understand product requirements and specifications.
4. Monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
5. Manage the procurement process from RFQ (Request for Quotation) to PO (Purchase Order) issuance, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
6. Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct cost analysis, and recommend optimising costs while maintaining quality standards.
7. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
8. Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate risks.
9. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier performance metrics.
10. Support cost reduction initiatives and participate in value engineering projects to optimize product costs without compromising quality or performance.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
3. Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers in Taiwan, China, Europe and USA.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Job Responsibility

• Perform technical calculations, prepare quotations and handle small to medium projects; including negotiation, purchase order, fabrication and delivery arrangements
• Fulfil product technical needs for customers and sales engineers
• Required to engage EPCs and System Integrators on Pump system technical matters
• Perform coordination of works with our sub-contractors
• Provide important feedback on customers, major projects in the market, competitor products
• Provide timely weekly updates and monthly reports to manage and plan to meet the KPIs set

Requirements

• Minimally a technical diploma/degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or its equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience/Knowledge in mechanical pumps
• Ability to discuss highly technical concepts

Responsibilities:

• Provide customers with comprehensive pre and post-sales support, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
• Coordinate service engineers and technicians to attend service calls and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct systematic troubleshooting and timely repair of equipment.
• Advise customers on proper equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and corrective actions.
• Schedule and execute preventive maintenance for contractual customers.
• Assist in Projects, and A&A works as directed by management.
• Maintain accurate records of service, warranty, and installation data.
• Train and mentor assistant service engineers and technicians on technical matters.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for management updates on issue resolution and team coordination.
• Contribute to departmental financial goals by recommending necessary upgrades and spare parts to customers.
• Enhance departmental productivity by identifying cost-saving measures and process improvements.
• Prepare service pricing quotations for repairs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in the consumer/food manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Project Management and Product Knowledge, with exposure to CAD-BIM software.
• Capable of leading a team, making decisions, and work effectively under tight timelines.
• Proactive in updating and following up on task progress.
