Mental Health Counsellor / Clinical Psychologist
Broadly, this role ensures two outcomes of Clarity’s psychotherapy and professional counselling services to address the needs of the clients with mental health issues:
Professionalism in service delivery and adherence to standards of therapy.
Treatment efficacy for all clients undergoing individual psychotherapy or support group programmes.
Responsibilities
- Assessing clinical needs of clients, as well as plan for, and provide treatment, using evidence-based clinical models and treatment modalities. This is inclusive of individual and group psychotherapy/counselling, and crisis intervention.
- Applicants should also be able to modify treatment activities and approaches as needed, in order to comply with changes in clients’ progress and completing discharge plans. Establish positive therapeutic relationships with clients with mental health difficulties. Act as clients’ advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. Refer clients to community resources or specialists as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Clarity’s professional conduct and code of ethics, such as the proper recording and prompt updating of clients’ personal data, maintaining case history and progress notes with strictest confidentiality. Participate in case supervision with relevant service partners.
- Keep abreast about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy and psycho-education programmes.
- Deliverables – meet strategic plans and objectives of Clarity as directed by the Executive Director to meet Clarity’s mission and commitments to stakeholders.
- Ad-hoc projects – participate in ad-hoc projects as directed/required, e.g. developing training programmes, provision of public talks
- Assessment of client therapeutic needs and functionalities, (e.g. DASS, SDS, GAF, EPDS, YBOCs).
- Application of evidence-based therapeutic treatments for difficulties relating to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, social and interpersonal problems.
- Developing and executing group psychoeducational and psychotherapy programmes.

Requirements
- Masters of Counselling/Clinical Psychology/Applied Psychology with first degree in Psychology.
- Minimum 2-years work experience in clinical work.
